Deadly Coal report imageWith all this talk of clean coal, it's easy to forget that what comes out of the powerstation smoke stack is only half the story. Coal's deadly impact stretches right back to the start of the supply chain - to countries like Indonesia and Columbia, where open cast coal mines cause widespread respiratory ill-health, toxic tailings contaminate the water supply, and labour and human rights abuses are common place.
