Volunteering
Without the support and commitment of volunteers, Friends of the Earth Scotland would be unable to carry out its vital campaigning work. We value and appreciate the contribution that volunteers make to our success and are committed to ensuring that volunteering at Friends of the Earth Scotland is a rewarding and productive experience.

Why volunteer?
People volunteer for all types of reasons. You may want to update your skills, be active, or improve your job prospects. There is no typical volunteer but it helps if you are interested in environmental issues and can
work effectively as part of a team.

What will I do?
Volunteers at Friends of the Earth Scotland carry out a variety of administrative support work - from helping with mailouts and press cuttings to assisting with research and information gathering. Wherever possible we aim to identify specific roles for volunteers, which will provide an opportunity for the development and acquisition of new skills.

What will I gain?
As a volunteer, you can make new friends and meet like-minded people. You will develop new skills, gain valuable work experience, and learn about environmental issues. You can play an important part in the success of a leading environmental pressure group.

What can I do after?

Many volunteers go on to find paid work in environmental organisations. A large proportion of the current staff at Friends of the Earth are former volunteers.
