Volunteering

Volunteer at our Edinburgh office
Currently, there are around a dozen people volunteering at our Edinburgh office. Volunteers carry out a variety of administrative support work. There are many different departments including: Policy & Campaigns; Fundraising; Media; Local Campaigns; Information Technology. Whenever possible we aim to identify specific roles for volunteers which will provide an opportunity for development and the acquisition of new skills.

Please note that Friends of the Earth cannot provide help with finding accommodation or with relocating expenses.

Non-UK residents should apply to other Friends of the Earth International organisations.

For volunteering opportunities, see our main jobs page.

Friends of the Earth Scotland has a network voluntary local groups throughout Scotland. As a member of a local campaigning group there are opportunities to get involved in a range of activities including:

  • planning and organising local campaigns
  • participating in days of action
  • organising fundraising events
  • helping to distribute leaflets and newsletters

Local groups meet on average one evening per month.

Volunteer with a FoE group outside of Scotland
We have offices all around the world, which make up the Friends of the Earth International network, so if there is an office in your country, it may be more appropriate to contact them.
