Every time we recycle unwanted items instead of putting them in the bin, you're helping the environment.
Our most precious jewels and metals come from countries such as Angola, Sierra Leone and Congo, which have all suffered from conflicts that were fueled by money from the diamond trade. Gold mines in Latin America leak poisonous chemicals into the ground, causing harm to the natural environment and to the people living in the surrounding ares.
With our jewellery recycling scheme you can recycle any type of unwanted jewellery - it doesn't have to be gold, silver and precious stones - we accept costume jewellery, watches, and broken items. So if you're having a clear out and discover single ear rings, necklace without clasps, and items you no longer wear, please pass them to us and we will make sure they will be put to good use. We will also be able to raise funds from them for our campaigning work.
So you can make someone else happy by passing on an unwanted necklace, protect the environment by reducing waste and raise money for Friends of the Earth Scotland, all at the same time.
