As well as contributing to climate change this waste costs you money - around £1.3bn is lost to the Scottish economy each year from wasted energy.
Prioritising energy saving and better building design would help save cash and the planet. However, homes remain poorly insulated and policy makers spend more time discussing how to produce energy instead of trying to avoid producing it in the first place.
We are campaigning for:
- Tighter building regulations to ensure that buildings waste less energy
- Action to ensure these tighter regulations are enforced
- Financial incentives for private and public sector organisations to install energy efficiency measures,
- Government action to end fuel poverty in Scotland
- Timely and complete implementation of European directives on energy efficiency and energy conservation,
- Government support for householders installing energy efficiency measures.
