This report highlights the role of coal-fired power stations in UK climate and energy policy. Friends of the Earth is calling for the emissions of carbon dioxide from coal fired power stations to be halved by the end of the decade by halving the amount of electricity produced in these stations. To keep us on track with long term emission reduction targets output should be further reduced to just 20% of today’s levels by 2020.
