How much does it cost?

All our waste prevention workshops our completely free and can be adapted with activities to suit both adults and children.

Who will we deliver workshops to?

Pretty much any community organisation or group including: Community Councils; Rotary clubs; church (or other religious) groups; parent and toddler groups; cub scouts/guides/brownies; after schools clubs; student groups; and work colleagues.

What would a workshop involve?

Our workshops are all focused on the issue of waste prevention and can include topics ranging from general information on Scotland's waste through to tackling plastic bag waste and junk mail. Each workshop includes some interactive activities, such as:
  • Living with Landfill DVD
  • 'SlimYour Bin' - a fun team activity where delegates carry out a “virtual” shop.
  • Waste/lunch audit - groups estimate the waste they produce and create an action plan on how they can reduce it.
  • Creative activities - reusing everyday materials to create mini plantpots and funky envelopes.
  • Reusable bag decorating - design your own organic cotton bag to take home and use so that you can say 'no' to plastic bags.
A range of information leaflets are also available at each event.

How long does a workshop last?

This all depends on the group. We can tailor workshops to be the length you need them to be but generally they usually last for approximately one hour.

We can also give you advice on organising a community event for your group such as a packaging action day, a give or take day or a charity shop challenge!

How do I request a workshop?

To request a workshop please contact the CREW Project Officer, Sam Adderley, on 0131 243 2700.

Please note: due to possible high demand and limited funding we may not be able to meet every request. However, we will endeavour to fulfil all requests wherever possible.
