Why do we need a strong Climate Bill?
Power Station

The results are in, the debate is over, and scientists agree on an unprecidented level. Climate change is real, and humans are responsible for it. Climate change is being caused as a result of gases - particularly carbon dioxide - that have been released since the industrial revolution. Most of these gases were released by the burning of fossil fuels.

The result of these emissions is that global temperatures are gradually increasing - you might have even noticed examples of this yourself.

However, if we act now it's not too late to do something about this. Through both making changes in our own lives, and asking our Government for strong legislation we avoid the worst excesses of climate change.

The good news is that the Scottish Parliament is working on a Climate Bill for Scotland. We need to make sure that this is a strong piece of legislation which actually has a genuine effect on climate change. To do this we're asking the Government to make sure their Bill includes a set of three Big Asks.
