Office volunteers
We have up to a dozen volunteers working in our Edinburgh office who carry out administrative support. The length of placements varies, but they are usually for a minimum of two days a week for three months.
As a volunteer you could be involved in supporting:
- Policy and campaigns
- Fundraising
- Supporter relations
- Media and communications
- Our online presence
- Finance and administration.
Whenever possible we aim to identify specific roles for volunteers which will provide an opportunity for development and the acquisition of new skills. Check our jobs pages for current office volunteer opportunities.
Please note that Friends of the Earth cannot provide help with finding accommodation or with relocating expenses.
Non-UK residents should apply to other Friends of the Earth International organisations.
Volunteering on stalls, at events and festivals
We often need occassional outreach volunteers to help promote our campaigns. Outreach volunteers are usually required at weekends and occasional evenings. If you would be willing to help please complete our volunteer application form and write Outreach Volunteer in the 'position applied for' field.
We will contact you next time an opportunity arises and you will receive a briefing before volunteering.
Specialist skills
If you have specialist skills you would like to offer please call us to see if we have a current need for them on 0131 243 2700. You can also complete a volunteer application form and we will get back to you when your skills are needed. Skills that we tend to need are:
- photography
- graphic design
- web design
- writing
- editing
- filming.
